Once a year, Katy First United Methodist members and attenders gather for our annual Foundry Gathering. This gathering is designed to help train us as a church in areas of leadership, Wesleyan spiritual formation, and church mission/vision.
This year our annual Foundry Gathering will be August 23 from 8:30 AM - 12:00 PM, and we are focusing on mission and community engagement. We will explore what Katy First does, our strategy, and why our faith compels us to be active in mission and community engagement. We hope everyone leaves inspired and empowered about how we can impact our community together!
The schedule will be:
8:30 – Light breakfast, check-in, and gathering
8:45 – Large group - the purpose and direction for the day
9:00 – Session 1*
10:15 – Break
10:25 – Session 2*
11:40 – Large group - our next steps as we leave
12:00 – Dismiss
*everyone will participate in both sessions, but be divided into smaller groups for sessions. One will focus on what we do and strategy for mission and community engagement. The other session will focus on why this is important and what our United Methodist theology says about mission and community engagement.
